Groups of moments tend to be characterized into periods of time, this could be over long or short durations such as days or seconds.

The standard use of photography is to freeze moments in time, no matter the style of photography this is very hard to get away from. Within this project I have been expressing my work through street photography, I have tried to counter the notion of frozen time by using two shots from within a second. This allows motion to be seen between two frozen in time photographs, the correspondence of time with photography is inherently a misconception as having captured an image in one time and being able to see it in another is not quite the truth. As what we are seeing is not real and not tangible within the time that we are looking at it so therefore the concept of the image is a lie. Photography is usually seen to be showing the truth but how can something that is in itself a lie possibly show the truth; especially in this era that we live in where the truth can be manipulated and misconstrued through such forms as photoshop. For example, this project `Moments In A Second` gives the film effect and as can be seen through the files there has been no editing to create this, however, I did not use a film camera instead the lens of a disposable camera on a digital camera.

I have decided to leave my artist statement to be viewed at the end of this project so that more contemplation can be found within these images. As a personal note I find that when an image or selections of images are presented without context the natural human instinct is it try and make sense of these. This leads to more time for deliberated over the images and then once the artist statement has been read this can then be reviewed for the second time with more knowledge and appreciation.
