Josh Corston is a photographer from Plymouth, currently based in Portsmouth. Working primarily within the field of documentary photography, his practice focuses on capturing the overlooked details of everyday life and the subtle interactions that define contemporary society. Through his lens, Corston seeks to tell honest, human stories, often highlighting themes of place, community, and identity.
Corston first studied photography at undergraduate level, earning a BA in Photography, where he began refining his technical skills and developing his distinctive visual approach. He is now working towards his master’s degree, further expanding his research and creative practice. His work demonstrates a balance between critical engagement with social issues and a sensitivity to the fleeting, unposed moments.
Blending observation with narrative, Corston’s images aim to draw viewers into a dialogue about the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of lived experience. His commitment to the medium reflects both a documentary impulse to record and a creative drive to interpret the world through photography.
