Detachment is an investigatory project looking into the attachment people have with their mobile devices.
This is a project which has been developed from my last body of work where I investigated my own addiction with social media and the satisfaction it gave me. This helped me to break down social media and how we use it.
This is where my project began as I capture the devices itself, but each device shows the amount of time we spend with it. The use of the device can be seen through the customization and damage that has occurred. Therefore, showing how attached we are to our phones and how detached we are from the rest of the world. Alongside this I created a zine to demonstrate the detachment from society that occurs whilst using a mobile device.
